Sensory Dissection
Flavor
Bai Ji Guan
Bai Ji Guan is the rarest of the four famous Wuyi bush teas, named for its pale, yellow-green leaves. Despite its light appearance, it is a fully oxidized yancha with a gentle roast. The cup is delicate and refined: honeyed florals, soft citrus, and a silky mineral finish. Its pale leaf color and lighter roast make it the gentlest entry point among the Wuyi rock teas.
Da Hong Pao
Da Hong Pao is the most famous of the Wuyi 'rock teas' (yancha), grown on mineral-rich cliffs and traditionally charcoal-roasted. The cup is deep and layered: roasted stone fruit, dark mineral, and a warm cacao-like finish with a distinctive 'yanyun' rock rhyme minerality. It is bold yet smooth, and resteeps many times with evolving character.
