Sensory Dissection

Flavor

Baozhong

FloralFreshSweetSmooth

Baozhong is Taiwan's lightest oolong, made from long, lightly oxidized leaves that are strip-shaped rather than rolled into balls. The cup is delicate and fresh: lilac and orchid florals, a soft vegetal edge, and a clean, sweet finish with very little roast. It brews quickly and is often enjoyed in tall glasses, where the unfurling leaves put on a quiet show.

Tie Guan Yin

FloralCreamyFreshSweet

Tie Guan Yin is China's most popular oolong, rolled into tight jade-green balls that unfurl over many infusions. Modern light styles are intensely floral — orchid and lilac — with a signature creamy mouthfeel and a fresh, green edge. Traditional roasted versions add warm toasty depth. The tea rewards short repeated steeps and is forgiving to brew.
